SAN DIEGO PRIDE FESTIVAL ENTRY POLICIES

San Diego Pride is a space that centers and celebrates queer identities, voices, and joy. San Diego Pride is committed to ensuring that our festival is a joyful, inclusive, safe, and accessible experience for everyone in our community.

ACCESSIBILITY

We continuously work to improve both our operations and festival grounds to better serve attendees with disabilities and other access needs. Our accessibility offerings include ASL interpretation at main stages, designated mobility pathways, accessible restrooms, quiet zones, and dedicated accessibility support staff. For more information on accessibility offerings visit here. For suggestions on how we can improve our operations you will have an opportunity to submit feedback via our community survey after the festival.

ANIMALS & PETS

Service animals are welcomed at San Diego Pride. In keeping compliance with the U.S. ADA regulations, disabled attendees may use a service animal that is individually trained to do work or perform tasks for the attendee. The work or tasks performed by the service animal must be directly related to the attendee’s disability. While we understand the important role animals play for our community, we cannot accommodate emotional support animals. Animals that solely provide emotional support or companionship to an attendee will not be permitted inside the festival.

BAGS/BACKPACKS

For enhanced festival security and to expedite the entry process for all of our attendees, San Diego Pride will prohibit bags with the exception for clear plastic bags not exceeding 12” x 6” x 12” and infant and medical bags. Clutches and purses no larger than 5” x 7” are allowed. Oversized bags (i.e. backpacks, suitcases, beach bags, laptop bags, etc.) are prohibited. All bags will be subject to search. Lockers will be available to rent subject to availability. See the LOCKERS section for more information.

BANNERS, FLAGS AND SIGNS

San Diego Pride welcomes and encourages individuals to showcase their pride in a variety of different ways. To ensure that these items do not interfere with the enjoyment of others, we ask that attendees adhere to the following guidelines:

Banners, flags, and signs are welcome as forms of expression and celebration. However, to ensure safety and shared enjoyment and visibility for all, they may not be placed in the direct sight line of performers, hung on fencing, festival tents, trucks, protective railings, or block other attendees’ views, advertising signage, or video ribbon boards.

Banners and signs should not exceed (2) feet by (3) feet. Flags should not exceed three (3) feet by five (5) feet in size. These articles must not include commercial promotion, harmful or discriminatory language or imagery, or violate our commitment to an inclusive and respectful environment for all attendees and performers. Signage that blocks sightlines or becomes a nuisance for any reason to other attendees for any reason is not permitted.

San Diego Pride has the sole discretion to permit or remove any sign or banner from the festival grounds at any time, for any reason. See our “Code of Conduct” section for further guidance on approved and prohibited language.
